Seven Sisters (What Happened to Monday) dipinge un futuro orwelliano non lontano, popolato da figli unici e
regolato da rigide imposizioni governative. 
Siamo nel nel 2073, un futuro non troppo lontano, in un mondo
post-apocalittico in cui catastrofi meteorologiche, sovrappopolazione e scarsità di risorse stanno devastando il
pianeta. Tensioni civili e politiche, guerre e profughi hanno cambiato il volto del mondo Una legge centrale, varata per
arginare la crescita incontrollata della popolazione, permette alle famiglie il concepimento di un solo figlio per
nucleo. La regola è stat istituita dal Bureau per il Controllo delle nascite, diretto dalla Dott.sa Cayman (Glenn
Close) che impone l'ibernazione dei figli in eccesso. 
In questo contesto austero e limitato, sette sorelle
gemelle, la cui madre è morta durante il parto, lottano per vivere un'esistenza normale fingendo di essere tutte la
stessa persona (una ragazza di nome Karen Settman), e alternandosi nei suoi panni nel mondo esterno per qualche ora a
settimana. Alle piccole Lunedì, Martedì, Mercoledì, Giovedì, Venerdì, Sabato e Domenica (tutte
interpretate da Noomi Rapace), allevate dal nonno (Willem Dafoe), è permesso uscire di casa soltanto nel giorno
corrispondente al proprio nome, con il divieto assoluto di rivelare il segreto della loro famiglia. Nascoste per sei
giorni a settimana, camuffate nelle ore concesse all'esterno, crescono senz'altra compagnia che quella del nonno e delle
sorelle, fino a quando una di loro, Lunedì per l'appunto, non sparisce nel nulla. Toccherà alle altre investigare
sulla scomparsa della maggiore, anche se questo significa uscire al di fuori del giorno stabilito.



Seven Sisters (What Happened to Monday) paints an Orwellian future not far away, populated by unique children
and regulated by strict government impositions.
We are in 2073, a not too distant future, in a post-apocalyptic
world in which meteorological catastrophes, overpopulation and scarcity of resources are devastating the planet. Civil
and political tensions, wars and refugees have changed the face of the world A central law, launched to stem the
uncontrolled growth of the population, allows families to conceive of one child per nucleus. The rule was established by
the Bureau for Birth Control, directed by Dr. Cayman (Glenn Close) that imposes the hibernation of excess children.
In this austere and limited context, seven twin sisters, whose mother died during childbirth, struggle to live a
normal existence by pretending to be all the same person (a girl named Karen Settman), and alternating herself in her
shoes in the world outside for a few hours a week. At small Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and
Sunday (all played by Noomi Rapace), raised by his grandfather (Willem Dafoe), he is allowed to leave the house only on
the day corresponding to his name, with the absolute prohibition to reveal the secret of their family. Hidden for six
days a week, disguised in the hours allowed outside, they grow without any other company than that of their grandfather
and sisters, until one of them, Monday precisely, does not disappear into thin air. It will be up to the others to
investigate the disappearance of the major, even if this means going outside the established day.
